I should re-read Lighthouse and read the Wolf Hall trilogy, thank you for the recs. I loved and highly recommend Mantel’s memoir Giving up the ghost.
Did you notice that when the Guardian published its latest list of the 100 best novels, of the top 10 exactly 5 were written by women, including Middlemarch as #1 and Beloved as #2?
